Applying for a license in your county of residency is required, however it is valid anywhere in the state of Ohio for 60 days.

If you live out of the state of Ohio, but are returning to get married, you must apply in the county where the ceremony is to take place, and you must have a name of the person performing the ceremony. There is no waiting period for the license, and again, they are valid for 60 days.

Please note that all counties require payment in cash and require that you both be present during the application process. All of the offices prefer that you get to the office at least 45 minutes before closing because the process takes some time, that is if you want to get the license on that day without coming back.

There are specific laws regarding the ages of the female and the male, please contact the specific county of significance if you are unsure.
